I enjoy wandering through cities with my camera, capturing whatever catches my eye along the way. My photographs exist outside the conventions of traditional street photography: they are often devoid of people, yet unmistakably shaped by human presence. Nor are they architectural photographs in the conventional sense, even though buildings frequently play a central role. I group these works under the series title *City Walks*.

This little project brings together photographs of fieldcrosses, hunting stands, and benches—human constructions set into the landscape.

They are modest structures, yet they carry weight. Built for rest, reflection, or appeal to higher powers, they mark the places where people meet nature with purpose.

Each frame is an invitation to pause, to consider the dialogue between the land and the traces we leave upon it.

Between 1934 and 1936, three military barracks were constructed west of Augsburg-Pfersee as part of the Wehrmacht’s rearmament program. From 1944 to 1945, the site housed the Augsburg-Pfersee satellite concentration camp (Halle 116), where prisoners were subjected to forced labor. Following World War II, the U.S. Armed Forces occupied the complex, operating it as Sheridan Barracks before the area was ultimately redeveloped into what is now Sheridan Park.

This series of photographs is not intended as a documentary record. Rather, it is a personal photographic exploration of the traces of the past—found amid contemporary urban development, the remnants of the U.S. Army presence, and the few surviving physical testimonies to the crimes of the Nazi regime.

All photographs were taken with a Nikon F90 using Agfa APX 100 and Fomapan 100 black-and-white film.
